Francis Cayouette

Designer Francis Cayouette’s work is shaped by a strong understanding of function, materials and the role objects play in everyday life. With a clear and refined design language, he creates products defined by a careful balance between aesthetics, usability and material understanding.

Born in Canada, Francis Cayouette studied in Montreal and Paris before establishing his Copenhagen-based studio, Unit10 Design, in 1999. Since then, he has collaborated with both Scandinavian and international brands across furniture, home accessories and lifestyle products.

Materials play a central role in his work, and the process often begins with hand-drawn sketches and explorations of form, proportions and function.

"I want the result to be surprising and innovative, but it should also be honest and feel very natural."
